How much hard drive space does one episode of Awesome Show take up approximately (including all post)?

I was just wondering, after seeing your live show in LA this year (saw it last year too in Philly, both times were awesome!), how do James Quall, Richard Dunn, and David L. Hart feel about all the crazy fans in the audience going nuts over them? Did they ever think they'd be "celebrities" like this? ???

Does Tim really smell bad? Y'know, like dirty socks? Or fish? I had a friend who went to one of your shows and claims she spoke with him, and told me he stunk. I'm not sure, because he looks like a pretty clean guy.

Hi, Eric!

Do you guys write individually all the time, or do you sometimes collaborate and each help write a single sketch?

What do you think the ratio is in terms of sketches of yours that made it and sketches of his. Is it half and half? How is it decided?

My mother and sister are both Eric girls, but my dad is a Tim man. Do you think he likes Tim simply because he's jealous of you?

You've mentioned LOST in commentaries a bit. What do you think of the show? Have you seen the new season at all yet?

Speaking of commentaries, there were none on the Season Two DVD. Don't get me wrong, the DVD was really awesome otherwise, but this is the first time there was a lack of insights. Just out of curiosity, why were there none? And if you don't see answering the following as too too tedious, what would you have discussed during certain episodes?

Yoyoyoyo!

Hey, Eric. New Season = Awesome! Maybe been asked before...

One of my favourite comedians is Sarah Silverman, any chance that you could collaborate again? That would be awesome.

I'm guessing you won't get to these until after QUAD is finished...So what's next for Tim Heidecker and Eric Wareheim?

...UK Tour?

Cheers,
Fearghas ;)

Hi Friends. I've missed you. Just returned from a 26 show tour. Holy Moly that was fun and so intensely exhausting. We've been just on our couches for days now resting up for season 5! uh ohhhhhh!

Thank you all for showing up to the tour and watching season 4. I think you'll like this one.

xoxo

Q:
Q1) About half a year ago I bought an Uncle Muscles Hour t shirt from timanderic.com and I got a free autographed picture by you and Tim on set of brownie mountain. It looks like on the picture you autographed on Tim's body and Tim autographed on you. Did you guys do this for fun or by accident?

Q2) What do you think about the show Xavier: Renegade Angel? Is it meant to be watched high?

A:
Accident

I love that show. It's something truly different and out of control. John and Vernon are are our buddies and we are so delighted that they share some TV space with us. That show has a lot more in common with The Awesome show than most of the other toons on the network.

Q:
Will there be an Awesomecon in 2009?

A:
I'm almost positive.... YES! And we are doing Spring Break in Florida as Jim and Derrick.

Q:
Q1- do you guys plan on releasing the half-hour Muscles for Bones?

Q2- every thought of compiling a large sum of your material for a T&E box set?

A:
Yes. Season 3 DVD!

That would be really nice. Maybe after the season 5 DVD.

Q:
Q1) The notion of an all-knowing, perfect chocolate god has influenced me greatly. Which god is your favorite/preferred deity to worship?

Q2) Do you think mustaches are superior to beards? The reason I ask is because mustaches seem to be frowned upon these days in comparison to beards. But maybe beards are the real fad, and mustaches are truly the tasteful choice.

A:
ew

mustaches are so 2000 bro. grow up.

Q:
Hey Eric! This has been bothering us for a while. It happens that there isn't a single Papa Johns in all of San Francisco. My question is, when you did your live shows in SF, did you go all the way to Daly City to get your pies? Or were you throwing out IMPOSTER PIES?

A:
Great Question! I think they were official Papa Johns pies. I don't know where they got them though. Some cities on the 2008 tour got imposters though!

Q:
what is the deal with 'this heart is a drum machine'?...i saw that it listed you on IMDB and i was curious if you played a small or big role in the film...? details!

A:
Tim and I spoke about music. It's a funny bit for a documentary.

Q:
What would you say is the coolest thing you have ever done?

A:
Slam dunked in JV basketball. I got a plaque for it!

Q:
I thought Andy Kindler was great in your AST poll / "I did better than Kindler" video and love his style of deconstructing stand-up as he performs it. I was wondering, do you guys ever plan on working with him on Awesome Show?

A:
We LOVE andy. But he probably wouldn't work for the show. There's only a few "comedians" that can translate their humor to our show.

Q:
1.When did you guys first realize Tanese would transit well into your guys work, and that whole "relationship" with Dunn?

2.Ever seen the movie Cabin Boy/the series Get a Life (Bob odenkirk wrote for it)? It's one of those other little crazy comedies that made it to the public.

A:
She is just part of the Abso Lutely family. A perfect fit! We have so much more of her "Gettin it Dunn" episode that someday we'll show you.

Love both.

Q:
Have you ever seen 200 Motels? http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0066732/

If not, are you a fan of Frank Zappa's work?

A:
I haven't.

and I'm not.

Q:
I understand that Humpers is a popular topic of discussion, but I had to ask - cups? and if not, on a scale of 1 to very painful, how would you rate the filming of that video? also, what's it like to work with the infamous John C. Reilly? Dr. Steve Brule is possibly the best character on the show, I would love to know how the magic happens.
All the best,

A:
Cups? What are you talking about? The shit video?

John is amazing. So fun and inspiring to be around. Lot's more Brule coming...

Q:
What's your favorite Adult Swim show that you're not apart of?

A:
Look Around You

Q:
is there any way you guys can release an mp3 or video of your 12 Days of Christmas from Nite Live? can you please, for christmas?

A:
That's a good idea. Maybe next year.

Q:
Will you consider doing a whole episode with canned laughs? It would be funny as hell seeing how you would use them.

A:
Episode 401!

Q:
How many actual brownies did you consume over the course of shooting the episode "Brownies"

A:
A lot. And they were really shitty/oily brownies. The art department really fucked that one up. We had to use chocolate syrup to add to our faces to get that real good brown going.

Q:
do you guys like Troma?

A:
not at all

Q:
I know you listen to a lot of music, but I wonder if you have ever listened much to David Byrne or his Talking Heads?

A:
Love him and talking heads. Tim kinda turned me on to his stuff. Saw David Bryne a few years back in LA. He wore a pink leather suit and covered Beyonce's "everybody get crazy right now." It was amazing.

Q:
Tell us what is going on with nite live! please!!!!! my boyfriend and i need our nite live fix!

do you and tim plan on doing interviews on late night TV? i have seen little web interviews but nothing on conan or anything like that.

A: No more Nite Live. Superdeluxe.com went under. Oh well. It was fun while it lasted. We'd love to do Conan.

Q:
Any further collaboration with Peter Serafinowicz and Robert Popper? Also, Look Around You was on Adult Swim's schedule but seems to have been taken off, do you know the deal with that?

A:
Yes, we want to make a show with them. Stay tuned!

Q:
What did you do on Halloween?

A:
I actually went to a "hollywoody" party and dressed up in a super disgusting fur suit. It freaked everyone out. Perfect!

Q:
since nite live is dead (may she rest in peace), can you tell us whodunnit??? or are you planning on revealing this on some other venue, to satiate us chippies?

A:
To be honest, we didn't write the conclusion yet. haha!

Q:
is there any chance of getting a Nite Live DVD or something?

the guy saying "EGG ZACKLY!" at the end of Jim and Derrick, was he Neil Hamburger?

A:
That's a good idea!

Yes. His name is Gregg Turkington.

Q:
Do you guys plan to come back to Dallas in the future?

A:
Maybe next year. 2010. Dallas was really fun.

Q:
How much fun did you have on David's Junior Christian Teaching Bible Lesson Program?

Also... Did he think you were high on mushrooms or something?

A:
It was pretty fun. Although we did it at 10 in the morning, so i was just waking up. It felt like a dream. A bad dream.

No, we act that way a lot in public.

Q:
1. what band are you dying to see live? (im dying to see black moth super rainbow. if i don't see them before they completely stop i'm going to commit music suicide)

2. do you like sports

3. why does it seem like you have a pepto bismol addiction? i just have noticed it being mentioned a notable amount of times. I love you.

A:
i am making a video for BMSR this year. I am very excited. I can't wait for Animal Collective as well.

2. No.

3. It's a funny thing. Pink syrup to stop D.

Q:
what are your plans for the only married news team? will they leave with steve brule? do you have anything new planned for their characters?

A:
They are coming back with a vengence!

Q:
Do you like Portishead?

A:
Yes. There are a few tracks on the new record that blow my mind!

Q:
Your work on both Flying Lotus and Ben Folds videos were amazing. How was that?
Was it your idea for them or did they come to you? (on both accounts)

Will you guys ever come to Canada. I love you ever so much and have made many Canadians fans. We love you here.

A:
Flying Lotus came to me, and Ben came to both of us. Both really fun experiences. They both trust us and gave us full creative freedom.

We have been to Vancouver 3 times!

Q:
do you and Tim call your Dads "Pep pep" in real life? I have to ask another question that has been haunting me, Are Dennis Harrity and Bread Harrity related?

A:
No.

No.

Q:
How was it working on Young Person's Guide to History? Your and Tim's scene was really well done, I am so glad that you guys were apart of it.

Also, I noticed Eric Fensler is a writer for you guys. Can you name a sketch you like that he wrote?

A:
We came in, did some silliness, and left. Quick and painless experience.

Fensler: Sit on you.

Q:
Q: What would you say has been the most time-consuming or challenging bit/sketch you've ever had to make for the show? In terms of special effects, editing, or just amount of time in front of the camera?

A:
Hmm. Good question. The Casey/ Steve Mahanahan bit was pretty tricky. and a lot of the bits that are animated take some time. We have a new episode called "Cinco Brothers" that is probably the most time consuming bit coming up!

Q:
What is your favorite iPhone app at the moment?

A:
I use iWant a lot.

Q:
Q)Is the 2nd season DVD going to be able to be played for us poor English folk with different region DVD's?

Q) Do you find Jaaaam the most unsettling thing ever to be shown on tv? It is incredible but I watch it with a mixture of love and fear.

A:
Not sure. I hope so!

Jam is probably my most favorite TV show of all time. Totally brilliant and scary.

Q:
what are your favorite holiday jams?

A:
My mom makes a plum jam that i adore.

Q:
q: when did you see my bloody valentine? i just got to see them at all tomorrows parties and the roseland, wish i had a chance to back in the day. belinda is the nicest person imaginable.

A:
I saw them when i was 17 or so. And I'm gonna see them again at coachella!

Q:
have you met any little kids that watch your show regularly?

A:
We have. A lot of them came to our live shows with their parents. Totally cute.

Q:
1. Will you be involved with Robert Popper and Peter Serafinowicz's new show for Adult Swim and are you and Tim the reason that they've gotten involved with Adult Swim?

2. I met Neil Hamburger when he came over this December (get your asses over here soon!) and he was such a lovely guy but I forgot to ask him about Neil Hamburger's Big Ball. How's that going?

3. I wanted to know about Jam too. Chris Morris is an absolute genius. You obviously appreciate dark humour and we've seen it in your work, but do you ever want to something as deliciously disturbing as Jam?

4. Any other British shows you've gotten into recently? Also any opinions on Vic and Bob or the Mighty Boosh as comparable double acts to you and Tim as far as the Brits are concerned?

A:
1. Yes.

2. Not good. They passed on it.

3. Yes. Just wait till our movie.

4. I don't really like that much outside of Jam and Look Around You. Tim and I live in our own lil world over here. And I think that keeps us kinda pure.

Q:
How much hard drive space does one episode of Awesome Show take up approximately (including all post)?

A:
That's a question for our editors.

Q:
i saw on your answers that you used to hang out with hardcore kids. Do you like hardcore, if you do what bands do you like?

A:
I did when i was 16-20.

Q:
I was just wondering, after seeing your live show in LA this year (saw it last year too in Philly, both times were awesome!), how do James Quall, Richard Dunn, and David L. Hart feel about all the crazy fans in the audience going nuts over them? Did they ever think they'd be "celebrities" like this

A:
Great Question! After 26 shows they kinda got used to it. It's funny really to see them be such pros out there on stage with 1500 screaming fans going nuts. In a sense they are very professional about it.

Q:
Do you guys write individually all the time, or do you sometimes collaborate and each help write a single sketch?

What do you think the ratio is in terms of sketches of yours that made it and sketches of his. Is it half and half? How is it decided?

My mother and sister are both Eric girls, but my dad is a Tim man. Do you think he likes Tim simply because he's jealous of you?

Just out of curiosity, why were there none? And if you don't see answering the following as too too tedious, what would you have discussed during certain episodes?

A:
We have a team of writers. But most of the bits start or end with the Tim and Eric Touch on it.

Hard to tell. pretty 50/50

Yes.

Love LOST. Love the new sodes.

We just didn't feel like that DVD needed them. We stocked it with SO much other goodness.

Q:
One of my favourite comedians is Sarah Silverman, any chance that you could collaborate again? That would be awesome.

I'm guessing you won't get to these until after QUAD is finished...So what's next for Tim Heidecker and Eric Wareheim?

...UK Tour?

A:
I don't think she would work well on the Awesome Show.

Season 5 is next!

We'd love to come to the UK soon.

Q:
Hey Eric! Who is more laid back, you or Tim? My guess would be you.

A:
We are both uptight for diff reasons. And both chilled out for diff reasons.

Love yaaaaaas.

On Tom Goes to the Mayor tonight, the credits showed a calendar of Jan and Wayne Skylar. Is this or will this calendar ever be available for purchase?

Also, do you think you'll ever make it to Atlantic Canada on tour?

Are there any plans for a second Awesome Show Soundtrack?

I love that you guys put the Awesome Tour 2008 as an extra on the DVD. Would you guys ever consider releasing live show footage from before 2008 as extras on future DVDs?

I'm a big supporter of letting 'celebs' have their privacy, but I think if I was ever walking merrily along and saw anyone from the Awesome Show I would have to at least say 'hi'. Do you find your handsome mug being more and more recognizable in public?

Do you think the paparazzi will start coming after Richard Dunn?

Have there been times when a random fan has gone overboard.... like in a bar or whatnot? When you were trying to just enjoy yourself and have a drink with a friend.

Thanks, Eric!

Blah, been fuckin' forever since I've been here but my temporary departure from the site left me with a lot of questions coming about:

1. If you guys plan to do another tour, is there any chance of getting close to Pittsburgh? Philly's too far away and while I have a friend near the place you did your 2009 Ohio stop, we're only internet/gaming aquaintences. Is there any hope for you guys coming somewhere close to pittsburgh?

2. Is there any chance of TGTTM ever getting on iTunes? I own the DVD's but I rarely 'watch' DVD's these days and without a way to get it over Xbox Live Marketplace or iTunes, this is my only option. I'd just love to be able to have some of it online...

3. Please tell me Awesome Record, Great Songs! Vol. 2 is on the way soon, Brownie Mountain, I Can Wait, Chippy Trike, Cleaning Up After Your Cat, it's all some great T&E quality music, I'm hopeful of getting legit MP3's of high quality, can you drop a tidbit or two on whether or not it's coming? :o

4. Is there any chance of you guys doing another podcast again? Maybe as a BTS kind of thing for season 5?

5. A while back, you had said you were in discussions or had gotten some scheduling problems to try and get Michael Ian Black on Awesome Show, did that ever work out or did things fall out? :x

That's all, been loving season 4 and I await your Brule spinoff whenever it premiers. And just to toss out there, I REALLY loved the Brownie Mountain skit for the season three finale. Just wanted to mention, I thought it was all just pure awesomeness. It's hard to describe it specifically, but it's my favorite part when I watch it on my iPod Touch. :D
You got me friend! :D

"Video glitching" is a big part of the humor on Awesome Show. Do you or Tim make decisions before post-production about what segments will stutter or glitch, or is that a signature trait of the editors? Also, how do you feel about this type of editing as a form of humor?
The key to creativity is to be weird. And if being weird takes effort, then you're doing it wrong.

And so the Great Eric Answers our prayers. :D

Kay, I have a question.

Your (supposed) Youtube Channel has a bunch of amazing "Directed by Eric Wareheim" Music videos that I'm just in love with.

The one with Palmer Scott in is just EPIC, I was at a loss of words when I saw it, and I heart heart HART the one for MGMT'S "The Youth". Just a few things I've always wanted to know 'bout those:

1) Did the bands approach you (probably on their knees) begging for a Tim and Eric-a-fied video, or were they both ideas you proposed/ funded on your own? I noticed that your video isn't even linked to any of the MGMT music pages anywhere.. which is strange.

2) love the ridiculous amounts of sequins in "The Youth". Who's responsible for the neat look of those cool costumes?

3) and finally, where's that breakdancing kid from? I have a feeling I've seen him before.. but then again, I am a universally renowned sex predator.

Um, I have a question for Eric.
I have never been to a tour, including this one just past, because it's usually so far away, across a few states. I'm hoping that there will be another one because I would really like to see my heroes in person. If there is another tour, I want to leave work for a bit and trek my way down there (even if I have to do it alone) just to see you guys in person.
My question is this - If I can make it, would it be possible (or would I have a chance) to get my Rats Off to Ya! T-shirt autographed? I would like to frame it and gaze at the glory.

Thank you for your time.

Dear Eric,

my elder sister and I are going on a road trip
across the United States.
What are your top 5 places to visit?

Sincerely,
Alekx

Dear :X,
Hi, I am the older sister and I want to ask you a question and it is related to Binky's question. "Binky" is Alekx's nickname. She is too shy to go by it in public, but I don't mind calling her that in public because she is my sister and I love her very much.

My question is this:

What do you think are a few quintessential roadtrip albums? We prefer to feel more "Kerouac/adventurous" than, say, "beer-ponging college kids going to sexy Spring Break places."

Well, Binky is yelling at me because she thinks if I keep writing I will make you angry and you won't respond. Binky is graduating high school and I have just dropped out of college and these are our reasons for "Kerouacing."

We saw you in Denver.

Binky felt jealous after she saw that I utilized font technology and she changed her font to "red" afterwards.
