The Terry's HBO Special Discussion

Grab your pep-pep and your step-peppers, folks, because The Terry's are finally upon us!

Tim and Eric's short film, which, as you know, was shown at the Sundance Film Festival this year in Park City, Utah, is airing TONIGHT.

The premise, in case you aren't aware, is as follows, Rick Woreham explains that: " Two down-and-out losers conceive a child in a fit of drug-induced passion. They consider the child an abomination, but they learn that this “special” child has a special purpose. Or so they think, but what they come to learn is that this ‘special’ child was sent to them for a purpose: to teach them how to love."

Trailers from Eric's youtube:

But the thing is, it's only going to be on HBO. Sadly, I DO NOT have that channel. (Dingus cheap basic package :'( )

So, if anyone finds a link, be sure to post it here, for me and for others with a situation similar to my own.

Don't be a hunk. Just post it. ::brule::
This looks like it will be right up my alley. Somewhat similar to Father and Son, what with the dark undertones.
Anyway, this is the place to post Terry's related info and snippets.

I think I speak for all of us when I say........

I found a reliable link after hours of laborious search!

The only drawback is about halfway in it gets a little bit unsycnhed, but it isnt enough to distract the viewer from the plot. It could be just me. I dunno.

Enjoy! :D :D

I thought that this was glorious. Very cinematic.

I recorded The Terry's the other night because I was out of the house when it was on...

So, I watched it as soon as I got up yesterday morning...Think it was too early or something...i'll watch it again...but, my inniatial reaction was 'Wow, this is really gross

even for Tim and Eric.' I didn't laugh at all, honestly until it was over. The funniest part for me was how horribly paced it was for a short film...and that there was barely

any explaination for anything. I think some of the intent was to make it seem like they had no idea how to 'properly' pace a short so they settled on shortening a longer

and more detailed script, not caring about huge plot holes. The child was conceived within one day...He radically changed their ways within a brief montage...A drug

addiction that realistically would be much more complicated then just "No, no." They were dead by the end...

I'm probably wasting time stating the obvious here... :-[

Um, it's a short film. They don't really have the time. I think it can be inferred that all of that time passed I think since they changed clothes several times. (All the outifts were hilarious. :) )

And, haha, who cares that it wasn't medically correct? I mean, look, all they did was dry hump, first off. And their baby isn't even human. He's a fucking puppet boy.

I've watched it four times and I'll admit that I didn't laugh as much as I would at a thing like Just 3 Boyz or Father and Son or Morning Prayer or what have you, but that doesn't mean that I didn't appreciate and enjoy it. I thought that they did a great job. Tim has the whole junky attitude down to a T, and Eric was truly gross. I fucking loved Tim's fire pants at the beginning. They remind me of something my cool uncle might wear and he is the nicest guy, nothing like Terry Grout.

If Tim and Eric never make Awesome Show again, I'd be sad, but I'd be perfectly content if they continued to release short films.

Loved it!

You're a weird boy... but it was worth every fuckin' second...

Go let mammy and pappy walk in the desert. Good boy time... good bye boy...

I liked how it was 11 minutes of the most horrid, disgusting shit ever.

Then the last 3 minutes were so uplifting and calm.

Here's a higher quality version, the one posted earlier is almost unwatchable

If you didn't care what happened to me,
and I didn't care for you,
we would zig zag our way through the boredom and pain,
occasionally glancing up through the rain
wondering which of the buggers to blame
and watching for pigs on the wing.

Yeah, it didn't seem so bad at first, but in in retrospect it is pretty horrible.

:X

The one from ReedTamaranda (Please, no squirrel bones) is actually synched and full screen.

I would've posted his originally, but it was uploaded after.

Awesome to see a higher quallity version! ::quall::

I wish I could have only the T&E HBO sketches on a DVD (cutting out the rest of the Funny or Die stuff). The season 1 DVD was waaaay overpriced ($30!!) and had no extra features, plus I only liked Morning Prayer, Magical Balloons, Father & Son and Just 3 Boyz. And The Terrys, of course.

I've had that same brilliant thought churning in my head for some time now! :D

If they can put their Tim and Eric.com stuff together for us on DVD, they should have no problem compiling this.

Although they might not be able to because of copyrights or ties to HBO and FOD. I dunno, I'm not an expert on that subject.

Thing is, I'd buy a DVD of the HBO work right away. :D

I'd like to be able to say which FOD segment I like best, but they're all so fantastic in different ways I have a hard time holding one higher than another.

Eventhough [as] gives them a lot of creative freedom as to subject matter, they still draw the line at some point. Ideas for the show have been shot down by the higher ups at [as]. They have even more freedom when working room with the HBO skits, and it's great to see what they can produce when they do.

Salame.

My friend Zach and his girlfriend got a hotel room to eat some mushroons coincidentally the night the Terrys came out.

He said he was completely blown away...especailly in that state of mind. He said it felt like it went through every piece of human emotion in 14 minutes...and it was the best thing he'd seen by them so far.

He even said it 'made' his trip. Like, the film kicked off a lot of his experience and enterpretation...

hmm...just thought that was something worth sharing. 8-)

I didn't love this. They did a good job of recreating a white trash trailer park lifestyle, but I didn't laugh that much at all. Of course with Tim and Eric you always laugh, but I didn't find it as funny as anything they have done before. Not hating, just not loving, either.

Finally saw this and my was it an experience. Started out being a bit eerie and then I liked the fairy tale twist it took. Kinda wish the puppet was more child like though, i.e. Pinocchio. But other than that, wowzers. Good job, lads.
