The Tim and Eric Billion Dollar Movie discussion

Well, I know it has been talked about quite a bit in interviews throughout 2010, but a recent twitter "tweet" from Eric pretty much confirms it.





So with casting underway, we can assume they have a script and will be filming this year! Feel free to post thoughts on the movie, as well as share any bits of info you may come across here.

Probably late 2011, early 2012. I'll bet late 2011, not sure if we'll get a tour this year, as the movie will probably take up a lot of their time.

I actually talked to David Liebe Hart about the movie when he came to Arcata, California. He said he was playing a police officer. I'm not sure if that is news or not.

The trailer is incredible. Surprisingly a lot like the show. I was expecting more "Hollywood," but I guess thats just them.

Did you see it at the LA Film Fest?

Did you go the other screenings of the submissions put forth by Eric Wareheim? If so, how were those on the big screen since they've been around online?

Coincidentally, I was in the Southern California area on vacation (meeting up with grandpep-peps and peppers and step-grandmem-mems).
But I couldn't sneak away and ditch my family to see if I could find a ticket to see the trailer!

I'm totally jealous of you.

That's good to hear that the trailer gives off the impression that Tim and Eric have maintained their lo-fi style, even though they're capable of more traditionally polished, cinematic bits -- like Brothers Cinco, Tim's Puberty song, etc.
I'd expect there to be a mix of both, really, but I also expect to be totally blown out of the water by something unexpected.



They really can do anything they want to. Their talents are so diverse and dynamic. They can pull off more storyline-oriented things like TGTTM; super creative and challenging sketch comedy like Awesome show; more in-depth character studies like we got to see with Check it Out; more serious and horrifying bits that still manage to be hilarious like Father and Son and The Terry's.
And they're musicians. You get the idea.
They're about as versatile as they come.



I'm curious about the trailer, but I also don't want to spoil it for myself by asking questions. Grrr, conflicts abound!

Any idea on when the trailer will be released nationwide/to the Internet?

The only things I know about the movie are that it is set in an abandoned mall and Tim and Eric owe one billion dollars
and that John C. Reilly will not be playing Dr. Steve in the movie.

I love the idea of a shabby, abandoned mall setting.


I eagerly await the release of this film. It will be a sizzler.

DLH told another fan that it will come out in January, but I'm gonna take that with a grain of salt considering it's DLH. He's not always reputable.

We as fans don't know much about the movie, which is a good thing for suspense's sake, but Tim and Eric have said this much about the subject.

"Tim and Eric, who, Wareheim said, "literally get a billion dollars to make a movie, and we make it, and things go awry, and Tim and I just decide to get out of Hollywood and become businessmen in an abandoned mall"

He said it would be out the week after we saw it, but it has been a while longer already. The only thing besides the trailer that I hadn't seen was the extended Terry's. Which was horrifying. Probably twice as bad.

An extended version of The Terrys, you say? --interesting. How extended?

I actually saw a screening of They Terrys last August at the Nevada City Film festival. They also played the Diahrrea video. The only thing I remember different from the released version is the blow job scene. Its much more graphic. Eric's character spits a big load from his mouth into the beer can then drinks it. Its very disgusting.

Yay, I saw the trailer last night at the end of their Lindin show! They made everyone swear not to film it, because they weren't above coming down and punching any of us in the face
It does look great, and seems to have a mix of the scrappy looking visuals we know and love and some 'proper' cinematics. It's only getting a domestic release in the US though so I won't get to see it for years and years

So this weekend I was picking up a friend from the train station in Irvine, and I saw David Liebe Hart and he needed a ride to a hotel to see a UFO convention so my friend and I took him. We talked to him for a while and he is exactly like how he is in the show. I asked him about the movie a little bit and he said that he had quite a few different parts in the movie but most of them ended up getting cut out. He mentioned playing a cop like from Quall of Duty and a few other parts. Also he said the movie comes out in January.

Miscellaneous crew for the movie includes the stunt team, which consists of a coordinator and one stuntman.

His name is Steve Schriver





He is Tim's stunt double.
